My Story

Hello! I am so glad you take time to read my update information; God bless you. I am Milton Alberto Lopez Paz. I am 16 years old. I am in 7th grade and I receive study guides every week. I have internet in a cellphone, and I use WhatsApp. Since I am studying from home it is very hard for me to comprehend the topics because I do not receive my teacher´s support. I like to play football with my friends in my spare time. I missed attending the feeding program, and I especially missed the activities during the pandemic time. Thank God the program is open again. I walk 10 minutes to arrive to the program. My mother is the one who supports our family; she works by selling food from home. I do not have my father´s support because he abandoned us years ago, and we do not know anything about him.

We attend Catholic Church, and we travel there 20 minutes by bus. My family and I felt sad during the time the church was closed for the pandemic situation. My family and I spend time in the afternoon and talk about our day or something fun that happened to us. My family and I celebrated Christmas eating “tamales” (a typical dish) at home, and it was very special. We own the house in which we live; we have 2 rooms and a separate kitchen. Those are made a part of block and another part of tin sheets with a tin sheet roof and cement floor. We have water and electricity services. Unfortunately, the tin sheets of the roof are old, and we need to change them because in winter the water gets into the house. This is one of our priority needs for now because my mother does not have the resources to repair the roof. Thank God, my family and I are in good health. Let me tell you that at the beginning of the pandemic, my mother worked as a nurse, but she lost her job. Thank God, she started her small business of selling food, and thanks to her struggles, we could go ahead, and now we are stable. Fortunately, my family and I were blessed with grocery bags from Living Water which helped us to supply the necessities at home. To finish, I want to tell you that the LW team called us and gave us a date to update this information; I personally gave it to them. I say goodbye to you for now. Every blessing for you!

With much love,

Milton Alberto Lopez Paz
