I hope from the bottom of my heart that you are having a wonderful day; God bless you! This time the LW staff shared the gospel and gave us encouraging words to seek God and look for a church to go to. For now, we are thinking of attending a church, but we have not decided yet which one to go to. I am in good health and so is my family. My father is Israel Morente, and his age is 30 years old. He works as a day laborer, and currently he is cutting sugar cane on the coast from November to May. He is in touch with us and sends us financial support. My mother is Martina Chen Riz, and her age is 28 years old. She does the chores at home and goes to wash clothes for other people 3 times per week to get income. Furthermore, she raises hens, turkeys and pigs to sell. My family grows corn and black beans just for our consumption.
This is Mely Roxana Morente Chen, and my current age is 12 years old. I am a sixth-grade student, and since the classes are at school, it is easy for me to comprehend the lessons. Fortunately, my parents are striving to support me at school and cover the expenses. My native language is Kiche´ Mayan dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. Moreover, I would like to learn English; it is an interesting language. My wish is someday travel to the United States. I love drinking sodas, and my favorite is Tiky. I like to play football in my free time; it is the sport I like the most. Usually, we celebrate our birthdays, and I feel so happy when mine arrives because all my family is together. The climate I prefer is winter because I like the rainy days. I also like Christmas time. Being part of the feeding program has been a great blessing for me and also to my family, thanks to the support I receive there. The greatest needs are groceries, and corn. So long. May God bless you in everything you do!
Lots of love,
Mely Roxana Morente Chen
