Cuatro Caminos
Guatemala
Child
Cuatro Caminos "four roads", where your child lives, is an area located high on the side of a mountain in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this area is very difficult and very isolated from the outside world. It is a two hour walk to the nearest market town of Zacualpa. Cuatro Caminos is a farming area where corn and black beans, the staple elements in their diet, are the major crops. The Quiche Mayans who inhabit this area trace their ancestral roots to the ancient Mayan civilization. They normally speak a Mayan dialect called Quiché - however, Spanish is becoming more common. Very little money ever changes hands in this area as they live on a barter system.
Hello, my name is Andres Wilmer Ajqui Chach, and I want to introduce you to me. I was born on September 21, 2020, so I am now 4 years old. I am in good health, and I enjoy playing with my toy cars. I do not attend school yet due to my age. I love red, and my favorite animal is the sheep. I really enjoy eating grilled meat. I have two brothers and one sister, and she is registered at the feeding program too. I live with my parents, and their names are Juan Carlos Ajqui Morente and Gregoria Chach Gomez; they are in good health. My father is a farmer and he mostly works at the coast; he comes home every two months. My mother is a housewife, and she sometimes goes out to sell herbs.
My family and I attend Prince of Peace Church, and I would like to ask for your prayers for us and our daily needs; we are in need of groceries and corn. We live in my paternal grandmother’s house. It has three rooms and one kitchen, and the rooms are made of adobe with a tin sheet roof and dirt floor. We get our water from a spring, and fortunately we have electricity service; we pay it every month. We have sheep at home. I walk for 15 minutes to arrive at the feeding program, and I am happy to be part of it. My mother helped me to give my information to the Evangelism team, and she is also accompanying me to the program. I say goodbye to you for now.
Hugs and kisses
Andres Wilmer Ajqui Chach
