My Story

Hello dearest sponsor! I send you greetings in the name of our Lord hoping that you and your loved ones are doing well.  It is a pleasure for me to be able to tell you about my family and myself.  I live with my parents, my grandparents and my siblings.  My mother’s name is Andrea and she is a housewife.  She also raises green peas and she has some sheep.  My father’s name is Carlos and he works as a baker in a bakery in our town.  He comes to visit us 2 or 3 times a week.  My grandparents are Dominga and Mateo and we are actually living in the house with them because we do not have our own house.  My father and my grandfather share the expenses.  My grandfather works as a mason.  I have two sisters and one brother.  Dominga is studying.  Irma stays home because she is the youngest.  Marvin also studies, and I am the oldest.  Thanks to God, all of us are in good health.  This year, I am in the 4th grade and I am not repeating my grade.  My favorite class is mathematics.  The school is a little far away.  If we walk really fast, we can get there in 20 minutes.

Moments that I enjoy with my family are during Holy Week because my father takes the time to teach us how to make bread.  Sometimes, we go to Chimaltenango with our aunt and uncle and we prepare bread.  Also, we have gone to a pool that is nearby.  When I grow up, I want to be able to make bread because I want to be a baker like my father and make the best breads.  Later, I would like to have my own bakery.  I like to play soccer with my friends and my siblings.  At home, the thing that I like to do is take the sheep out to pasture.  I also enjoy doing my homework.  My family goes to Bethel Methodist Church.  My mother is a deaconess in the church and my father also serves in the church.  I enjoy the praise songs and I would also like to serve in the church someday.  In difficult moments, we ask for pray from our church brethren and pastor.  I forgot to tell you that our sheep are some that our mother has raised.  She sells them to earn money for our expenses.  Thank you for everything.  God bless you.  See you soon.

Blessings and much love,

Efrain Riz Toj
