Dueñas
Guatemala
Child
Dueñas, where your child lives, is a small farming village located at the foot of one of Guatemala's active volcanoes, Fuego (Fire). The fertile ground around the village allows for the cultivation of roses and coffee, two of Guatemala's largest exports. Most of the families in this area live in one or two room wooden or adobe houses with tin roofs. Electricity is available to those who can afford it. Running water is available - however, most homes do not have indoor plumbing. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider education of value. Life in Dueñas is quiet and sometimes difficult.
I say hello to you in the name of Jesus. I hope you are doing well. My name is Eidan Gael Quexel Shoc, and I am 5 years old. I was born on May 17, 2019. Fortunately, I am in good health and attend school as a pre-kindergarten. My favorite color is blue, I like dogs, and my favorite food is Bolognese spaghetti. My mom is Brenda Leticia Shoc Lara. She works hard as a domestic employee to support our family economically, but it has been challenging for her. Please pray for us and our needs. One of the greatest needs is a new closet. I live with my mom and my older brother, Anderson. I am the youngest child in my family. As for my father, let me tell you that he has another family and occasionally helps us with a little money. His name is Wilian Alexander Quexel Rodriguez.
My family and I do not attend any church at the moment. We do not own a house, so we live with our relatives. The owner of the house is one of my mom’s aunts. The walls and roofs of the house are made of tin sheets and the floors are concrete. The house has three rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity, and running water. We use only one room at home. My mom contributes with her income to pay for the services monthly. I am glad because there is enough space for pets; we have a lovely dog at home. I tell you the feeding program is close to our house. What a blessing! I only walk for five minutes to enjoy the delicious food there. I say goodbye to you now, but I want you to know that my mom and I gave all this information to a teacher of the LW evangelism team to share with you. Have a great day!
Huge hugs,
Eidan Gael Quexel Shoc
