My Story

I am so excited to send my greetings to you by this letter. I am Herson Misael Alexander, and I am 12 years old. I am in the 5th grade, and I attend face-to-face class five days a week. It is hard for me to do my homework because sometimes I do not understand the lessons. I really missed attending the feeding program during the pandemic because I enjoy all the delicious food that they serve us. Thank God, it is open again. I walk about 20 minutes to get to the feeding program. My father works as a mason in order to cover the household expenses. My mother takes care of the household duties. By the grace of God, my family is in good health.

I love to spend time with my family. After we finish the household duties, we like to spend time together in the afternoons talking and enjoying a snack. We celebrated Christmas by preparing tamales and spending time with all of our family. We attend an Adventist church which is a 20-minute walk from my home. We felt really sad when the church was closed because of the pandemic. Thanks to God, we are having services again. We own the house in which we live. We have 2 rooms and a separate kitchen. The house is made of adobe with a tin roof and dirt floor. Thank God, the house is in good condition. We have water and electricity. We were affected by the pandemic because the prices of all the daily products increased. Our biggest need is corn. We are so grateful to Living Water who has been blessing us with food parcels during the pandemic, each product is really useful and a great blessing for us. I want to tell you that the LW team contacted my mother by phone, and she gave them this information for you. I send you all my love and pray God blesses you greatly.

Hugs and much love,

Herson Misael Alexander Garcia Simaj
