My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in Jesus's name and hope you have a blessed and successful day. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Juan Elias Lux Simaj and I am 11 years old. I want to let you know that we are not attending any church.  Thank you to the LW team for their encouraging words and because they shared the Gospel with my aunt during the visit. This year, I am in 4th grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes and I am learning a lot about homework and playing with my classmates.  At the moment, my mother is making an effort to support my siblings and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. In the future, I want to become a policeman. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we eat “tamales” (a typical dish).  Soccer is my favorite sport. What I like to have for my birthday is new clothes. My favorite drink is coffee. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Tomasa Simaj. She is 27 years old. Currently, she lives in Guatemala City and works in a tortillas business there.  At the moment, she sends some money every 2 or 3 months to support the home expenses.  She comes to visit us every 6 months.  My grandmother Florencia is who takes care of us while my mother works.  We are a humble family, and our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every year`s end. I hope you like my letters.  May God bless you greatly!

Lots of love,

Juan Elias Lux Simaj
