My Story

Hello! My name is Mersa Hysenllari. I am 12 years old and my birthday is on September 12th.

I am doing well and enjoy good health. My favorite color is red. I like to become an actor when I grow up. I attend the sixth grade at school and am trying my best to study well. I enjoy studying Math as this subject is my favorite one, but I am trying to earn good marks in all the subjects we take from our teachers. I am happy that we go to the school physically and don’t take the lessons online, but while we are at school, because of the pandemic, we wear masks and respect the distancing. When I return from school I get together with my friends so that I play for a while. As girls, we usually play volleyball or fireball but we also like to jump with ropes, do run races and other games that are simple and typical for children our age. I attend the Bible classes for the children and my favorite lesson there is the death of the Lord Jesus in the cross to save us from our sins.

My family and I live in Kalivac, This village is located in Upper Mokra, Pogradec. I have five persons in my family. The house in which we live offers appropriated living conditions to us. My father’s name is Dritan and my mother’s name is Blerina. I have a brother and a sister. My brother’s name is Driano. He is four years old and my sister’s name is Regina. She is 10 years old. Both of them are registered in the program and we benefit help and care attending the programme and the Bible classes. My father has a tractor and he is working in the village when he is hired to plow the lands. He earns too less doing this job but we are happy that he has this job and that he has the tractor. He is using the tractor to plow our land as well. During the past year my parents have planted wheat on our land. They harvested the wheat on July and grind it to flour. My mother bakes the bread at home for us so that we don’t have to buy bread at the shop. We have a cow and by raising it we benefit milk, butter and cheese that we consume daily. Every year my father sells its calf and we gain a bit more profit that he uses to buy what we need the most in our family. My mother provides for us fresh vegetables as beans, peppers, tomatoes, onions, etc. The welfare of our family is not good and we live with low income. Same as all people who live in the village, we are challenged in many ways

The Living Water International team goes to Kalivac on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There we have rented a hall to do our Bible classes for the children as well as a Bible study for the ladies. The children in Kalivac who are registered in the sponsorship programme of Adopt a child come together with their parents in these meetings. Once every six weeks, each child receives a food package that contains groceries as pasta, rice, oil, sugar and other food items. We are thankful to the Lord for each of the sponsors who bless the children to be feed physically and spiritually. God bless you all!
