Hello! How are you? I am sending you much love with this letter. I want to tell you that I live with my father and siblings; I have five siblings. We only have one room that is made of tin sheets and we all sleep there. Thank God, my father works as a farmer in the town. We were under the care of one of my aunts, but we are older now and we can prepare our food and wash our clothes by ourselves. We buy on credit in my aunt’s store and my father pays the bill. We have survived in this way. My mother does not help us financially. Thank God, my whole family and I are in good health. I am studying and I am in fourth grade. I like my school because it is big and beautiful. My favorite subject is communication and language because I like to learn about the languages of our country. I am not working because I am dedicating all my time to study. I am still too young to work, but I will get a job in the future in order to help my family with the home expenses.
My favorite date is June 13th because it is my birthday. I was invited to my aunt’s birthday and it was a beautiful experience that I shared with my family. I had a happy Christmas because I wore new clothes and shoes and my father lit fireworks. It was a beautiful night and we had “tamales and poche” (typical dish and hot fruit punch) for the dinner. It was a little sad too because I was thinking about my mom and wondering if she was on the streets. One of my dreams is to become a teacher and help my community. I enjoy playing with my cousins. I am doing my best at school and I always do my homework. We do not attend church but I am sure we will do it soon. I ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to pray for my mother so that my family can be united again. It was a pleasure for me to greet you. I say goodbye to you for now hoping to hear from you soon.
With much love
