My Story

I greet you wishing you a brilliant day, and I hope you are blessed. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Candelaria Alicia Castro Castro and I am 18 years old. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Methodist Church every Monday. We thank the LW evangelism team who shared the Gospel with us and for their encouraging words. As you know, I am not studying, but I am embroidering typical blouses for sale and getting some income to cover my own needs. My dream is to become a merchandiser. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is “New Year” because I spend the day with my family. I like to drink “Incaparina” (a hot beverage made with corn and soy flour). Among sports, I like athletics. I want to let you know that thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Silvestra Castro Riz. She is 34 years old. At the moment, she is a housewife, and she is raising hens and pigs to sell and get some income. In addition, she embroiders napkins also for selling. My father`s name is Miguel Castro Xon. He is 36 years old. Nowadays, he earns a living by working as a day laborer and mason helper in order to cover our expenses. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries and corn. We grow corn for family consumption.  We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at the end of the year. May God bless you!

Warm regards,

Candelaria Alicia Castro Castro
