My Story

I fondly greet you hoping the Lord is pouring blessings upon you. I am Ana Griselda Garcia Coj and my age is 14, but I will turn 15 years old in June. I want to share some news about my family and me. This year, I am in 5th grade at school and I have been learning well so far since I receive face-to-face classes every day. Nowadays, my father is making an effort to support my siblings and me at school in spite of the lack of work in the village and that he does not have a stable job.  Moreover, school supplies are so expensive and it is hard for him to cover our expenses; sometimes he does not give me money to buy snacks during school break. I ask for your prayers for him. My dream is to become a good farmer. My native language is Maya Quiche, but I would like to learn Spanish and be able to have better communication with other people in the village. I enjoy Christmas time because I receive a special gift from you through LW/AAC. My favorite beverage is “mosh” (a hot drink made with oatmeal). What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a cake. I love to run outside in my spare time.

My mother`s name is Petrona Coj Riz and she is 50 years old. She is a housewife and she does chores at home.  She raises hens, pigs, sheep, and goats. My father`s name is Marcelo Garcia Calachij and he is 60 years old. He continues working as a farmer and day laborer. At the moment, we are not attending any Church. We thank the Living Water evangelism team who encouraged us to attend the Church. By the grace of God, all my family is in good health.  My family is grateful to LW because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. We are a humble family, so our priority needs are groceries and clothes. With lots of love,

Warm wishes,

Ana Griselda Garcia Coj
