My Story

Hello! My name is Esmeralda Shyti. I am 46 years old and my birthday is on October 22^nd. I am doing well and in good health. Even though, I have at times high blood pressure and for this reason, I need to go and see the doctor and receive monthly my medication description. When I was young and living with my family, my father used to work for a Christian organization and during that time, we have heard the presentation of the gospel and I have started to follow the faith in Christ. I got married and left the family of my father to live with my husband. We have two daughters. My oldest daughter is 25 years old and my younger is 17 years old. My oldest daughter is a person with different abilities since birth, and for this reason, I have dedicated myself to serving to her. My husband died before 18 years. Losing him, in my situation that I have, with a daughter that is with different abilities is hard. I live in the town of Pogradec and we own our apartment. We are thankful that at least, we have to pay no rent and pay only the bills for electricity and water. I receive only a small amount that is given to me from the social department that is dedicated to un employed persons who care for ill family members and my daughter is also classified invalid and she gets a small pension as well. Our financial situation is not good and we face poverty. For this reason, I have come to ask for help at Adopt a Child program and they have registered me and my daughter. I am happy to also come to the church services and hear about the Lord.

Speaking about my day, I have less to say, since I am busy carrying for my older daughter in the house. Sometimes I go out for walks and I take her with me also. I do the housekeeping, cleaning and cooking and afterwards, I try to visit my close friends or neighbors who live next door, just for some minutes of chatting. I am thankful from my heart for your spiritual and physical care offered to me through the program of Adopt a Child.
