My Story

Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiche, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult and somewhat isolated from the outside world. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value.  Life in Quiche is always a challenge.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for giving me the opportunity to be part of the feeding program. This is Danilo Agustin Gomez Caal. I was born in February 1, 2020. I am 6 years old now and I am well. I was enrolled at school in kindergarten. I love the color white and my favorite animal is the dinosaur. I have a beautiful family. My father´s name is Victor Alfonso Gomez Tzoy, and he works farming the land and cultivates corn and black bean to sell. Please pray for him because he suffers from gastritis and nerves. He has visited the doctor but does not feel better. My mother suffers from sinusitis. My mother´s name is Claudia Josefina Caal Chen, and she is a housewife and raises hens to sell. I have two sisters and they attend the feeding program too. I am grateful because God has blessed my family with good health.  My family attends a Christian church called “Asamblea de Dios”.

We live in our own house. There is only one room and a separate kitchen. It is made of adobe walls, tin sheet roof and dirt floor. It has running water and electricity. My father is in charge of paying for it. Some of our main needs are groceries and to lay a concrete floor in our bedroom and kitchen, so please pray that God provides enough money to make this dream a reality. It takes me 30 minutes by bus from home to get to the feeding program. Thank you for taking the time to read my information. God bless you!
