Dueñas
Guatemala
Child
Duenas, where your child lives, is a small farming village located at the foot of one of Guatemala's active volcanoes, Fuego (Fire). The fertile ground around the village allows for the cultivation of roses and coffee, two of Guatemala's largest exports. Most of the families in this area live in one or two room wooden or adobe houses with tin roofs. Electricity is available to those who can afford it. Running water is available - however, most homes do not have indoor plumbing. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider education of value. Life in Duenas is quiet and sometimes difficult.
Good morning to you! It is my pleasure to greet you and share a little of my life through Living Water. My full name is Evelyn Alesandra Nohemi Ordonez Gomez. I was born on November 14, 2017. I will turn 9 years old this year. I have only one brother, and we live with our mother. Edi Alexander Ordonez Puc is my father. Evelyn Del Rosario Gomez Lopez is my mother. Unfortunately, my parents got separated about two years ago. My father works in automotive mechanic business; he keeps in touch with us, nevertheless, we do not receive any support from him. Thank God, my mother struggles for our family; she works as a maid to get income. Could you please pray for my family, and that my mom continues having a job, so we can have the necessities at home? By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health. For now, we do not attend any church.
I am in second grade this year. My hobby is playing football. I love cats; in fact, our pet is a cat. My favorite color is pink. The meal I love the most is noodles. We are living in my grandmother's house, and my uncles and cousins live there too. There are four rooms and the kitchen is separated. The house is made of metal sheets with a cement floor. We have running water and electricity; the whole family contributes to pay for the bills every month. My family and I are so grateful to be enrolled in the feeding program and receive support through meals and medical care in the clinics. Well, this is all for now, but feel free to ask for more information about me. It will be a pleasure to meet you. Many rich blessings over you!
Warm hugs,
Evelyn Alesandra Nohemi Ordonez Gomez
