My Story

Hello! My name is Laura. I am 11 years old and my birthday is on November. I am happy to share briefly about myself through the questions that are asked from the team of Adopt a Child. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is purple. I go to school in secondary system and my favorite subject I enjoy to study best is Language and Literature. Schools close for the summer break in our country for three months. I have already chosen the books that I will read during this summer. My future dream is to study and become nurse. I have always wanted to be close to people and help them in any way I can. I like to spend time to play volleyball. We have sport fields in the town where we go to play and we can play also near our schools where we get the lesson hours. Our town has traditional walks during the evenings, and sometimes we go and play volleyball in the sand. I like to go and swim, whenever I have an opportunity to be with my cousins, relatives or with my parents. Summers are very busy in our town and a lot of people visit during the weekends. I like to go out for walks almost every evening, together with my mother and brother. While taking walks, we listen to music that comes from the coffee bars and see lots of people walking. Our family lives in the town of Pogradec. Our house is not in very good condition, even though, we are happy to have a house in the town. My family consists of four members who are my father, other, older brother and me. My older brother is trying his best to work and provide for himself and also help our family with all he can. My father emigrates constantly so he can work and earn better income in places like Croatia, Greece, etc. My father works in construction in these countries, but he gets hired only for a season during the year and the income he brings is still less. My mother is hired by the cleaning department of the local community. She cleans roads, and they do also lots of planting of flowers along the sidewalks and parks. When she comes in the house, after working, she cleans the house, cooks and does many other things. I am also doing my best to help her where I can be of help. We come together to the church of Pogradec and I am recently added in the sponsorship program of Adopt a Child. I am happy for this opportunity of help and care. My mother stays for the church service in the time that I go to the Bible classes for children and we are both happy to learn about the Lord through the Bible lessons. Thank you very much for your physical and spiritual care and God bless you!
