My Story

Hello! My name is Kozeta Elmas. I am 75 years old and my birthday is on October 3^rd. Because of my elderly age, I have problems with my own health. I get medication for blood pressure and have arthritis. I live in a small apartment in the town of Pogradec. My husband passed away before two months. I am still sad losing him because he used to be good company and help to me. My husband and I have two sons and am grandmother of five grandchildren. My oldest son lives with his family in the town and we see him very often. He comes with his wife and children to meet with us every once in a while in our apartment. My son and his wife are financially challenged and even that they wish, they are not able to help in my situation. My second son is invalid. He is unable to walk and very often he has seizures because he suffers from epilepsy. He was married and has a son who is now 18 years old. Very early after his son was born, his wife left the family and I cared for both, my son and my grandson. At present, my grandson has met with his mother, but he is trying to find himself a job and start his own life, not being depended on me. My son is 43 years old and because of his illness he receives an invalid pension. I receive a very little pension and adding the pension of my son, we try to make the living, but we are way too challenged and live in poverty. I got informed that the Living Water Church in Pogradec offers help in food, clothes and this is why I started to go to the church services. Since I have frequented the church, I am registered from Adopt a Child program as widow and have started to receive food provision. I am very thankful from my heart to the pastor of the church and to Adopt a Child for their help and care.
