Child
My name is Liam. I am 4 years old and my birthday is on June. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is blue and my future dream is to study and become a mechanic so I can work in a car service to fix cars and vehicles. I go to kindergarten where I spend the first part of the day. We learn new things daily from our teacher and after learning, we have lots of other activities and games. My friends and I have a lot of fun playing with toys and my favorite ones are the car toys. My mother comes to take me in the house from kindergarten at midday. I like to go outside and spend time to play with my friends who live near. My favorite game is hide and seek and any other game that we play using a ball. After playing for a while with my friends I go inside and continue to play with my toys and practice fixing my car toys. I also like to sit and watch cartoons together with my sister who is older and when she studies. I like to sit and color the drawings she or my mother draw for me. I live in a village that belongs to the community of Korca. I visit the town of Pogradec very often, almost every weekend because here live my grandparents and uncle. For this reason, I like to come and be part of the sponsorship program of Adopt a Child and have frequented church services regularly together with my sister. My mother or grandmother bring me to frequent the program and they stay during the service of the church. During the weekends my grandparents and uncle care for me and my brother while my mother does housekeeping and cares for my father. My father had an accident and got injured in his spine. He was injured badly and from that time and on he is invalid and tetraplegic. Because of the injury in his head he is also unable to speak well. The local government treats my father with an amount which is titled as invalid pension. My mother was a teacher of history before and was working part time. She gave up her job so that she can stay in the house to care for my father and to dedicate herself to our family and raise my sister and me. We live only with the invalid pension that my father receives and because of low income, the family of my grandparents and my uncle help us. We are thankful to the program of Adopt a Child for the food packages they deliver to us constantly. At present the food packages mean a lot to our family. God bless you richly for supporting a child with needs like mine.
