My Story

Hello! My name is Rajan. Thank you for reading about me and my family through this information provided by the team of Adopt a Child. I am 3 years old and my birthday is in April. My favorite color red and my future dream is to study and become a medical doctor. I have a bicycle and all day; I like to spend cycling in the road that we have near our house. Cycling is my hobby. I also like to spend a lot of time drawing and coloring, while I go inside the house after playing. I go to kindergarten where I spend the first part of my day. Besides learning new songs and poems by heart in our classes, we do lots of other activities like games, dancing, drawing, coloring, sport activities, etc. When I come to the house, from frequenting the kindergarten, I spend time with my brother who is a year old at present. I like to play together with him and watch over him while he sleeps so that my mother can find free time to do some housekeeping or cooking for our family. I go outside to play with my friends who live near my house. we play with ball, run races, hide and seek and ride bicycles. During the evenings, I like to sit to draw, color or watch programs for children in television. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas and have in my family 4 members who are my father, mother, me and my younger brother. My family owns only a small portion of land in which my mother usually plants vegetables for consumption. We have also a few fruit trees around our land and garden. Agriculture is very less profitable therefore my parents are dealing a whole lot with planting. My father has a job as truck for a company. This way, he gets a monthly pay out of which he covers all our basic living needs. My mother besides carrying for my younger brother and me, deals with gardening, does cleaning, cooking and all the rest of the housekeeping. He day is busy too. She is not able to work because she needs to stay in the house and because the job opportunities for ladies are very limited. We are not considered very poor, but we are financially challenged because only my father has a job and he provides for our family. Our house offers good living conditions. Because I am a needy child, I frequent the sponsorship program of Adopt a Child and am thankful that I benefit food packages. I am also thankful to the teachers of the Bible classes for the spiritual education they bring to us through lessons and lots of other activities. Through the program we have also dental care offered to us and we are happy to go to the dentist and get our teeth fixed. Thank you for all your care and God bless you!
