My Story

Hello! My name is Rajan Hysa. I am 4 years old, and my birthday is on April 15th. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is blue, and my future dream is to become driver. I desire to drive big lorries loaded with a lot of things to be transported from one location to another. I like traveling. I also like to draw and color, and we take a lot of time at kindergarten to do color the drawings that our teachers have ready for us. I have a bicycle, and at present, while the weather is nice and sunny, I like to cycle around, in the road near my house. I will go to kindergarten for a few more weeks, till it closes for the summer break. When I return to the house, I like to go out and play again with the friends I have nearby. We play hide and seek, with balls and do lots of running. After playing, I go inside again, and continue to play with my toys, watch cartoons on television and stay close to my mother while she cleans our house. I live in a village near the town of Prrenjas. We go to the town often, especially on weekends, when they have the open market day. Our family has five members who are my grandmother, parents and my younger brother, who will be two years old in a few months. My father was working last year for construction companies that would hire him to work for them, but during this year, he has also been able to go and work in Germany for three months. Since my father has emigrated, the finances have improved in our family therefore my mother is not dealing with farming, or planting in the land. When my father goes in Germany, she alone cares for my brother, me and for our grandmother. My mother is busy, cleaning, cooking, washing our clothes, doing shopping, brining me to kindergarten, etc. My grandmother is retired and she gives her pension to my parents who supply her needs for living. She cares for me and my brother when my mother gets on with her cooking or cleaning and sometimes, she walks me to kindergarten. Our house is in good condition, and our financial situation has improved a bit, but we are still living among many needs and challenges. I attend the program of Adopt a Child and receive food packages every two months. The food provided for me and my family is a big blessing for us all. I am also thankful to the teachers of the Bible classes for the spiritual education they bring to us through lessons and lots of other activities. The program covers also the cost for the dental care that is offered to us once a year, and I will soon be there, when t hey will st my appointment to see the dentist. Thank you from my heart for all and God bless you in return.
