My Story

Many greetings from the beautiful Chixocol village! My full name is Yadira Isabel Tzoy Gonzalez and I am so happy to share my updated information with you through this letter. I am a healthy 11-year-old girl and I like hot weather because I do not like wearing sweaters. I am in fifth grade and when I stay home, I usually wash the dishes and sweep to contribute to the chores. I attend the Catholic Church alongside my family and what I like the most are the flower arrangements. I would like to be part those who serve at church by making flower arrangements or whatever is needed someday. Our main reason to attend this church is the holy sacrifice of Mass. I am pleased to tell you that my mother accepted Jesus in her heart a while ago, so she does not have any doubt about her salvation. Therefore, sister Yojana (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged her to continue looking for God’s presence.

I want to take advantage of this opportunity to express the gratitude that my mother feels in her heart for the support that I can receive at the feeding program. She enrolled me there about two years ago because she knew all the benefits they provide. She used to enjoy her meals there when she was a child and what she enjoyed the most was receiving Christmas gifts and participating in the activities. Today, my mother is a housewife and sells domestic animals to contribute to the expenses. We have chickens and pigs at home. While she keeps busy at home, my father works as a day laborer and farmer. It is time to say goodbye, but I kindly ask you to pray for my family so that God takes care of us and keeps us safe. May God bless you!
