My Story

Receive cordial greetings from Guatemala City! Before telling you a little bit about my life, I want to give you thanks for being part of those who support LW-Adopt A Child financially and with prayers. This organization has blessed me so much since the first moment I started to go there. I have attended the feeding program for about two years. My family and I pray God makes you all prosperous and healthy to continue building the kingdom here in Guatemala. This is Angel Abrahan Nehemias Gutierrez Soto, and I am 11 years old. Fortunately, I am a healthy boy. I am in 4th grade at school and I have fun playing with water during summer. When I get to the feeding program, I usually participate in the bible lessons; what I like the most is praying.

At home, I usually make my bed and sweep to help my mother with the chores. She is a healthy housewife, who dedicates part of her time to selling shaved ice with salt or sweet flavors, which we called granizadas. She strives to help my father with a little money to cover the expenses and essentials at home. My oldest sister lives with us, but she covers her expenses by herself. My father works as a messenger.  He suffers from uric acid and he has gone to the Guatemalan Social Security for checkups and medicine. My mother and I are glad because the treatment that he follows is working. We have passed through hard moments, but we trust in God and pray for strength and health to keep going. We are a Catholic family, but we do not attend church at the moment. Brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW staff) recently shared the gospel and prayed for us, which we really appreciate. It is time to say goodbye, but I want you to know it was a pleasure to share my information with you.

With love,

Angel Abrahan Nehemias Gutierrez Soto
