Chixocol
Guatemala
Child
Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small, attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years, electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value. Life in Quiché is always a challenge.
Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of Jesus. My name is Sandra Leticia Luis Luis. I turned 4 years old in February 13. I enjoy playing with dolls. Pink is my favorite color. The cat is the animal that I like the most. I love to eat black beans with rice. I love my family and we attend the Catholic church. My father is Juan Luis Aguilar.
Unfortunately, my father is not working at the moment as he had a gall bladder surgery and is currently recovering. He also suffers from gastritis and takes medicine. My mother is Magdalena Luis Toj, and she does her best to support our family by raising hens to sell. My older brother Alex Eduardo supports our family working as a mason helper. I have three siblings and two of them are part of the feeding program.
We live in our own house which has two rooms and a separate kitchen. The house is made of block walls, tile roof and cement floor. We have running water and electricity. I walk about five minutes to come to the feeding program. I will say goodbye for now.
Many blessings
Sandra Leticia Luis Luis
