My Story

Tunaja is a very primitive area of the state of Quiché, Guatemala. The inhabitants are Quiche Mayans who trace their ancestral roots to the ancient Mayan civilization. The prevalent language is the Mayan dialect - Quiche. The people are either farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Very little money ever changes hands as they use a barter system. Public education is available - however, most families cannot afford it. Electricity and running water are not available in most of the area. Life in Tunaja is extremely difficult.

Hello! My name is Cristofer Enrique Coj Gonzalez, and I am so happy to share my information with you. I am four years old, and fortunately, I am in good health. I was born on December 22, 2019. Because of my age, I do not attend school at the moment. I have three siblings. While they leave our home to go to school, I stay home with my mother and play with my toy cars. I also enjoy painting my drawings. My favorite color is red. I like sharks, and my favorite food is fried chicken. By the grace of God, my whole family is in good health. My father is a farmer and also works as a moto taxi driver. His name is Antonio Coj Ajqui. My mom is a housewife and sells fruits to help at home with the expenses. Her name is Cristina Gonzalez Morente. As for our spiritual life, let me tell you that we attend Liberty Church.

We live in our own house. Fortunately, it has electricity and running water services. The house is made of brick walls with tile roof and concrete floors. Our house has three rooms and a separated kitchen. Fortunately, we have enough space to raise pigs and hens at home. We are a humble family, and some of our greatest needs are clothes and food. I am glad because I can attend the feeding program alongside my siblings. We usually walk for five minutes to get there. To end this letter, I want you to know that a teacher of the LW evangelism team helped my father and me to write this letter to you. I will leave you now, but I hope to hear from you soon. Have a fantastic day!

With much love,

Cristofer Enrique Coj Gonzalez
