My Story

Hello! My name is Dhurata Qosi. I am 55 years old and my birthday is on June 30th. I am doing well regarding health. I am living as widow from the time that my husband passed away. He died 18 years ago. I have three daughters. Two of them are married and live with her family and my other daughter is at present studying at the university. The town where she goes to study is very near and she comes and goes very often. I have my father and mother in-law still alive and we share the same house with them. We help one another in our needs. When my husband passed away, I was helped by the whole family very much and this is why I am still living together with them. Now is time that I need to do more to care for them both, same as they cared for me when I lost my husband. I live in a village that is near the town of Pogradec. We have a pretty view in front of our house, because we have the lake along the village and national road. Many people like to walk the distance to go to the town and others, like me, like to travel by minibus to reach to town when I need to be there for shopping. I go also when I have to do checkups at the clinic of the town, measure the blood pressure and take different medications when needed. Our village is very small and most of the men fish in the lake and by selling the fish they catch, they make the living. I have a portion of land and pant vegetables for consumption in our family. The garden is not producing a whole lot but covers our needs for vegetables up to the point that we don’t need to buy then from others. I receive a small amount living as widow and both my father and mother in laws do receive retiring pensions. We are not considered very poor, but we are still not able to cover all the expenses that are needed for the living. I have frequented the program for a long period of time, together with my daughter who left the program because she went to study at the university. The program and the church has blessed me with food and clothes and I am happy to be present in every service so I can worship the Lord together with the other believers of our church. The ladies who frequent the church have become now my good friends, since we have frequented the church for many years. I am thankful to the program for the physical and spiritual support. God bless you!
