My Story

Special regards from Chuchuca village! I am Maria Roselda Pastor Mendez and I am glad to tell you a little bit about my life and family through this letter. In advance, thank you so much for taking the time to read my information. Luckily, I am a healthy 11-year-old girl, and I am doing my best at school. I am repeating second grade. I like wearing warm clothes, so I prefer cold weather rather than hot. I live with my parents and three siblings. Unfortunately, my father is not able to work since he suffers from serious pain when he does heavy work since he underwent a surgery about six years ago to remove a hernia from his stomach. He also has had gastritis for a long time and does not have any treatment because of a lack of money. My mother is doing well and works hard by washing the clothes for others. However, she does not earn much and her income is barely enough to buy a little food and cover some expenses. Could you please pray for my family and me?

We attend the Assembly of God Light-Life Church and listening to God’s word during the service is our main reason to persevere there. My favorite part of the service is the worship time. I want to use this opportunity to express to you how grateful my family and I are to LW-Adopt A Child for all the support they provide us, such as food, Christmas gifts and spiritual guidance. Proof of that, brother Mario (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged my mother to continue looking for God in order to strengthen her assurance in Jesus as her savior. I have attended the feeding program for about three years. I have received Bible lessons since then, which help me so much to learn more about God.
