My Story

May the grace of the Lord be with you! I am Brenda Yesenia Toj de la Cruz, your sponsored child. I am so happy to share how God has blessed my family and me throughout this 2026. We are all in good health, which is worthy nowadays. I am 8 years old and I attend school as a first-grade student. I have fun playing with my dolls in my free time and I like both cold and hot weather. I have attended the feeding program for many years. What I like the most about receiving Bible lessons is singing. My mother really appreciates all the support that I have received through LW-Adopt A Child. She felt motivated to take me there because she heard that they have helped many families in our village for a long time. My mother is in good health and works hard to support me since she is a single parent. Her main source of income is weaving typical clothes and raising chickens to sell.

To earn an extra income, my mother travels to Guatemala City to make and sell tortillas. She usually does that for the last three months of the year to take me with her and not affect my school year. We live with my grandmother and she helps us to cover some of our needs. About our spiritual life, I am glad to attend the Full Gospel Church together with my family because we have learned so much about God. I am pleased to tell you that my mother has assurance of her salvation since she accepted Jesus in her heart. Brother Mario (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged her to continue trusting in God’s promises and take care of her salvation.
