My Story

Hi! I greet you in the name of Jesus and I wish you a brilliant and blessed day.  I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My mother`s name is Luciana Chingo Calachij. She is 43 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home and takes care of the family. Moreover, she raises hens, cows, and pigs to sell and get some income.  Sometimes domestic animals are for our family`s consumption. My father´s name is Camilo Gomez Cux.  He is 45 years old. He continues working as a farmer three or four days a week in order to support us financially. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. Nowadays, we continue attending the Assembly of God Church twice a week. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, we already have Jesus in our hearts. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

I am Silvia Gomez Chingo. I am 12 years old. This year I am in 5th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day. I am learning a lot with this study method, and I spend more time with my classmates. At the moment, my father is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that he does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover every expense. When I am older, I want to become a farmer. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish in order to improve my communication with others. My favorite season of the year is winter because I like to see the cornfields turn green. What I like to drink is coffee. For my birthday I like to eat a delicious cake and “tamales” (a typical dish) and share it with my family. Among sports, I prefer athletics. My family is grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent to me at the end of the year. May God bless you richly!

Huge hugs,

Silvia Gomez Chingo
