My Story

Hello! This is Adan Garcia Garcia, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are members of Assembly of God Church, and we attend the services on Tuesday. We have accepted Jesus as our personal Savior. We have hens at home, and we sometimes sell them. We also grow corn for our consumption. We are a humble family, and our frequent needs are groceries and soap. My mother’s name is Maria, and she is 31 years old. She is in good health, and she lives and works in the United States. She works in a chicken farm and sends money for our needs. I am under the care of my grandma named Miguela, and she is 62 years old.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 12 years old, and I am healthy. I am repeating 2nd grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more. My mom has many expenses, so it has been difficult for her to support me with my studies. I want to become a day laborer when I am older. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we prepare “tamales” and I light fireworks. We do not have the custom to celebrate my birthday due to our low resources. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking coffee. I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for the delicious food I receive at the feeding program. I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best
