My Story

This is Kiberlin, and I greet you fondly, hoping you are doing well. Before telling you my last news, I want you to know that a teacher of the evangelism team spoke with my mother to collect my information for you. He also encouraged our family through her to continue increasing our knowledge and faith in the Lord. LW is a crucial project because of tasty food and God’s news that many children like my siblings and me receive. We still attend the Prince of Peace Church; we usually do it on Mondays and Saturdays. Adan Mendez is my father, and he is 43 years old. About five months ago, he underwent surgery to remove the appendix. Fortunately, everything went well, and he is better. He makes a living as a farmer, although he cannot work as hard as he used to; that has affected our economy. We have had trouble buying school supplies like notebooks and food like corn. To survive, we grow corn and raise hens for our consumption.

My mother is a housewife and takes care of our family. She does a good job and I love her. Her name is Elena Mendez and she is 41 years old. Fortunately, she is doing well and so are my siblings. I am eleven years old and my health is in good condition too. I am in fourth grade, and I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because I can learn better and more. I would like a new language like English; I hope to accomplish it someday. Christmas is the happiest time of the year because people burn firecrackers, and I love it. My birthday was in September, but I did not celebrate it because of our lower resources. My favorite drink is “mosh” (a typical hot beverage made of oatmeal, cinnamon, and sugar), and I have fun playing with my dolls. This is all for now, but I want you to know that I appreciate you taking the time to read this letter. See you later!

With warm and huge hugs,

Kiberlin Dominga Mendez Mendez
