Hello! I praise the Lord for allowing me to greet you through this letter. This is Yesenia, and it is a blessing to share a little about my life with you. I live with my parents and two siblings. We are members of the Source of Life Church. We usually attend our services on Thursdays. Besides listening to God’s news there, I can do it at the feeding program too. My family and I are grateful because of the tasty lunches and the spiritual support we receive there. A teacher of the evangelism team shared the gospel with my older brother while he was providing this information to let you know about my last news. My mother, Candelaria Luis, is 37 years old. She keeps busy doing the chores and raising our domestic animals. We have hens and pigs to sell and get an extra income. My father, Manuel de la Cruz, is 38 years old. He makes a living as a day laborer and usually works from three to four days weekly.
He also grows corn for our consumption. Our resources are lower, so it has been difficult for my father to cover my school expenses. The most demanding of our needs are clothes and food. Fortunately, our health is in good condition. I am seven years old and my favorite sport is soccer. I am in first grade and this year, classes are face-to-face. I like this method because I can learn my lessons easier. I look up to my mother because she is the best housewife, so I hope to be like her when I am older. My native language is the Quiche dialect and I know a little Spanish. I also would like to speak another language, like English. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love celebrating this time with my family. My birthday was in March, but I could not celebrate it because of our lack of money. However, I hope to do it someday. I love drinking soft drinks and what about you? I say goodbye for now, but I hope to hear your news soon. May God bless you!
With many kisses and hugs,
Yesenia Esmeraldina de la Cruz Luis
