My Story

I greet you cordially and hope you have a brilliant and beautiful day alongside your loved family.  In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me. My mother`s name is Elvira Gutierrez Gutierrez. She is 42 years old. Currently, she raises hens and pigs to sell and get some income in order to support us with our expenses. My father`s name is Audelino Gomez Gutierrez. He is 50 years old. At the moment, he earns a living by going to the coast and selling bread, peanuts, and cheese. He comes every two months to our house. We grow corn and black beans for our family's consumption. We have hens, pigs, 2 dogs, and 1 cat at home. Our current needs are groceries and clothes because we are a humble family. At the moment, we continue attending the Catholic Church every Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother during the visit and for the encouraging words, so we received Jesus in our hearts in the Church. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Juana Elvira Gomez Gutierrez and I am 11 years old. Unfortunately, this year I am repeating 3rd grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day and in spite of this study method, sometimes it is so difficult for me to learn. I hope to pass my grade with God`s help. At the moment, my parents are making an effort to support me and my sister at school although they do not have a stable job and school fees are so expensive. In the future, I want to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to share some gifts with my family. Coca-Cola is what I like to drink. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake with my family. Among sports, I prefer marathons. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you like my letter.  May God bless you and take care of you!

Kisses and hugs,

Juana Elvira Gomez Gutierrez
