My Story

I greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you have a wonderful and brilliant day.  In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. My name is Yesica Yojana Tebalan Jimon and I am 8 years old. Unfortunately, I am repeating 1^st grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day and I spend the time with my classmates.  At the moment, my mother is making an effort to support my brother and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover all school expenses. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish in order to have good communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to light fireworks. I like to drink “Incaparina” (a hot drink made of corn and soy flour).  What I like to do for my birthday is to have a “piñata” (a kind of puppet full of candies). I prefer to play with dolls in my spare time. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Catarina Jimon Castro. She is 36 years old. Nowadays, she continues weaving typical blankets. Moreover, she raises pigs and hens to sell and get some income. As you know, my father abandoned us, so she is the only one that supports the family financially.  I want to let you know that we are not attending any Church. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother and for their encouraging words during the visit. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you enjoy reading my letter.
