My Story

This is Maria Ester Garcia Mejia, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are members of King of the Centuries Church, and we attend the services on Wednesday and Saturday. We have accepted Jesus in our hearts, and we are assured of our Salvation. We do not have domestic animals nor crops since we do not have enough space for it. We are a humble family, and our needs are groceries, corn and clothes. My father’s name is Rolando. He is 30 years old, and he is in good health. Sadly, we are not having much communication with him, and he stopped sending us money some months ago. My mother’s name is Fermina. She is 30 years old, and she is in good health. She is now working as a maid to cover our needs. My sister and I stay under the care of our paternal grandmother, Juana, when our mother goes to work.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 10 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 4th grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because there is a greater opportunity to improve my learning. It has been difficult for my mother to support me with my studies because she is the only one who covers all the expenses and everything is more expensive now. I want to travel to the United States when I am older. My favorite season is winter because I like seeing how the flowers bloom. I get so happy when it is my birthday because God has blessed me with another year of life. I prefer track and field as a sport, and I love drinking strawberry shakes. I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life because I am blessed with medicine and food. I hope to hear from you soon.

With much love

Maria Ester Garcia Mejia
