My Story

Wishing you a beautiful day and hoping you are receiving many blessings from God! My family and I attend Catholic Church, and we go on Sundays and Wednesdays. We are thankful to the LW staff because they shared the gospel and gave us encouraging words to continue seeking God, and we trust in God our lives. My father is Francisco, and he is 36 years old. He works by looking after vegetables and greens on a farm in Santa Cruz del Quiche. He supplies the family´s needs. My mother is Juana, and she is 33 years old. She does the household work, and she raises hens, pigs, and cows. Furthermore, she weaves typical blouses for selling to get income. My father grows corn and black beans just for our consumption. By the grace of God, I am healthy and so is my family.

I am Juana Maricela Carmelina de la Cruz de la Cruz, and I am an 8-year-old girl. I am a second-grade student, my classes are at school. and I am comprehending the lessons. My parents are striving to support me at school. The expenses are high since my siblings are attending school too, and they do not always have the resources. My native language is Quiche dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. I would like to study to become a teacher, I hope to accomplish my goal someday. My favorite beverage is “Incaparina” (it is a hot drink). I enjoy riding a bicycle; it is thrilling. At home, my parents try to celebrate our birthdays with a cake; I love it when it happens. I like Christmas time because my mother cooks “tamales” (a typical dish), and we enjoy them at Christmas Eve dinner. We are so grateful to Living Water for the tasty meals I receive each time. It is a big blessing for me and also for my siblings. The greatest needs are groceries, and corn. Take care. Every blessing for you!

Lots of love,

Juana Maricela Carmelina de la Cruz de la Cruz
