My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you are doing fine with your lovely family. I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My mother`s name is Juana Ruiz Ajqui. She is 37 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and weaving typical blouses to sell and get some income. In addition, she raises hens and pigs at home. As you know, my father abandoned the family some years ago. My stepfather`s name is Isaias Morente de la Cruz. He is 36 years old. He continued living with us. Nowadays, he is working as a day laborer in order to support us financially. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. Currently, we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church twice a week. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, she is sure of her salvation in Jesus. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

I am Esvin Eduardo Samuel Ruiz Ajqui. I am 14 years old. This year I am in 6th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot about homework with this study method even though I cannot talk well but I am doing my best. At the moment, my stepfather is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that he does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover every expense due to a lack of economic resources. In the future, I want to become a nurse or a mason. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish in order to improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) with my family. What I like to drink is “Incaparina” (a hot beverage made of corn soy flour). For my birthday I like to receive some gifts. Among sports, I prefer soccer. My family is grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent to me at the end of the year. May God bless you greatly!

Warm regards,

Esvin Eduardo Samuel Ruiz Ajqui
