My Story

It is a wonderful day to greet you through this and I trust that our Lord is blessing you! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Liberty Church from LW; we go on Sundays. We appreciate so much the encouraging words that LW staff gave us this time. Thankfully, my family and I are fairly well. However, I want to tell you that my father had a motorcycle accident at the beginning of this year, and he was hospitalized and almost died. Thanks to God's mercy, he could recover and start to work and support the family again. While he was at the hospital, he received support from the Guatemalan Social Security Institute and it helped us to cover our daily necessities. My father is Jose Virgilio Hernandez Garrido, and he is 32 years old. He works in the maintenance area for a restaurant in Antigua Guatemala; he supplies the home expenses. My mother is Ana Julia Cali Castillo, and she is 36 years old. She does not work out of home, but stay busy with the household work.

I am Alan Jose Hernandez Cali, and I am a 7-year-old boy. This is my first year at school and I am in kindergarten. I like to learn and play with my classmates. Supporting me at school is hard for my parents because of a lack of resources, and my father has to supply other needs. I would like to be a soldier in the future, and I would like to learn English; I think it is a very interesting language. I like sodas, especially Coca-Cola which is my favorite one. Basketball is the sport I like the most. I like Christmas time because of the gifts, and I feel so happy to receive one in the feeding program. I get so excited when my birthday comes, my family celebrates me with a cake and lunch, and I love it. I am so grateful to Living Water for providing me with tasty meals, and dental and medical care in the clinics; it is so helpful for me and my siblings. We are in need of groceries, and please pray for my family; we trust that our Lord is supplying our needs. I hope to hear from you very soon. May God bless you wherever you go!

Kisses and much love,

Alan Jose Hernandez Cali
