My Story

Hello! I greet you through this letter wishing you a happy and blessed day. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me. My mother`s name is Magdalena Coj Ajqui. She is 33 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of the family. In addition, she raises hens and ducks to sell and get some income. Moreover, she gathers firewood for others. My father`s name is Camilo Tomin Toj.  He is 33 years old. He continues earning a living by working as a day laborer and mason helper in order to support our family. In addition, he goes to the coast to cut sugar cane for 6 months during the harvest season. We grow corn and black beans for our family's consumption. Our current needs are corn and groceries because we are a humble family. At the moment, we continue attending the Methodist Church every Sunday.  Thank you to the LW evangelism team for the encouraging words that they shared with my mother during the visit, so we are sure of our salvation in Jesus. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Valerio Maximiliano Tomin Coj and I am 6 years old. This year, I am in kindergarten II at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes every day and I like to spend time with my classmates, also I learn much better with this study method. Thank God, my parents are making an effort to support my siblings and me at school. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to prepare “tamales and ponche” (a typical dish and hot fruit punch). My favorite beverage is “atol de masa” (a hot drink made of corn).  I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources, but my dream is to eat a cake someday.  Among sports, I prefer athletics and cycling. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. Thank you for reading my letter. May God bless you richly!

Huge hugs,

Valerio Maximiliano Tomin Coj
