My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you with this letter hoping you are doing great. Praise the Lord, my family and I attend Power and Faith Prince of Peace Church, and we go three times per week. We are thankful to the LW staff because they shared the gospel and gave us encouraging words to continue seeking God. We have already accepted Jesus in our hearts. Thankfully, we all are in good health. My father is Diego Castro, and he is 45 years old. He lives and works in the United States; he keeps in touch with us. Now, he works in a dairy and sends us monthly support. My mother is Maria Tomas, and she is 46 years old. She stays busy with the duties at home and raises hens, sheep and pigs, and sometimes, she sells them. Moreover, she weaves typical clothes for others. My family grows corn just for our consumption.

I am Marina Castro Tomas, and I am a 13-year-old girl. This year, I am not attending school, but my wish is to return to school and continue with my studies. At the moment, I am helping my mother with the chores at home. My native language is Quiche dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish. Moreover, I would like to learn English; it is an interesting language. I enjoy playing, but the sport I like the most is football. The climate I prefer is winter because the fields turn a beautiful green. At home, we make apple juice; we blend apples with sugar; it is delicious. On my birthday, I like wearing my favorite clothes and having a good time with my family. Sometimes, my parents celebrate if they can. I am so grateful to Living Water who provides me with a tasty meal each time I go, and also the team is very kind to me. At home, we are in need of groceries and corn. Hoping you like my letter and that I receive news from you soon. Many blessings!

Special regards,

Marina Castro Tomas
