My Story

My full name is Mario Rolando Lara Gomez, and it is a pleasure to write this letter to let you know how my family and I are doing. First, I kindly ask you to pray for my family and me. Sadly, my grandparents passed away about one year ago due to their age. My siblings and I were devastated because we could not believe that was true. However, God has never left us alone and has been comforting our hearts. Fortunately, we have managed to move forward. I am 15 years old, and I am enrolled in seventh grade. I identify with my father because he is a hardworking man who strives to support our family. He makes a living by selling flowers in Antigua Guatemala.

My mom also works hard as a domestic employee in a place called Ciudad Vieja to contribute to the expenses. She was glad to help me write this letter for you. Thankfully, we are all in good health. At my church, I have learned that Jesus is our Heavenly Father. My family and I attend the Catholic church in our village. We like attending the Holy Mass on Sundays. Now, I want to tell you a little about my best friend, Juan. He loves playing soccer as much as I do. We have been friends for about three years. It is time to say goodbye, but I send you warm hugs.
