My Story

Hello! How are you? I am Evelyn Maritza, and I greet you with much love hoping you find my letter interesting. I want to start telling you about my spiritual life. We have accepted Jesus in our hearts, and we have been encouraged by LW Evangelism team to continue trusting in God. We still attend Prince of Peace Church on Thursday and Sunday. My father’s name is Adan, and he is 47 years old. He works as a farmer and day laborer, but he does not contribute with the home income because he has alcoholic problems. My mother’s name is Jacinta, and she is 58 years old. She works hard at home and does the laundry of others to cover our needs. Our situation is not so good, and at the moment, we are in need of groceries and food. We raise sheep and hens, and we sell some hens to improve the income. We do not have crops because we do not have a piece of land to sow.

I am a healthy girl, and I am 11 years old now. I am in 4^th grade, and I prefer face-to-face classes because it is easier to learn the lessons. It has been difficult for my mom to support me with my studies since she is the only one who covers my expenses and does not have a stable job. I want to become a good day laborer when I am older. I like playing soccer, and I love drinking a Guatemalan hot beverage called “Mosh” which is made from oats and milk. I enjoy Christmas time because we share happy and special moments in family. We do not have the custom to celebrate my birthday due to our low resources. I have always received support from Living Water, and it has been a great blessing for me. May God bless you!
