My Story

Hi! I greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day. I want to tell you a little about my family and me through this letter. I am Luis Armando Gutierrez Yat and I am 12 years old.  As a family, we are not attending the church. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother and for their encouraging words during the visit.  This year, I studied the 3^rd grade at school and I received face-to-face classes every day and I learned a lot about subjects with this study method. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, but my stepfather and mother made an effort to support my brother and me with school expenses. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, but I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others.  My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to light fireworks. I like to drink Coca-Cola. What I like for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake. Among sports, I prefer soccer. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Mirta Gutierrez Yat. She is 32 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home, taking care of us, and weaving typical blankets for sale and gets some income. In addition, she raises hens and pigs at home. My stepfather`s name is Lucas Chingo Mucia. He is 40 years old. Currently, he continues living and working in the United States 2 years ago. He earns a living by working as a mason´s helper and he sends us financial support.  We grow corn and black beans for our family’s consumption. As a needy and humble family, our current needs are groceries. We are very grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support.
