My Story

Hello! I greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you are doing fine.  I am Edwin Jairo Ruiz Garcia and I am 9 years old.  I want to tell you that we are attending the Prince of Peace Church every Sunday. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit, and she is sure of her salvation in Jesus. This year I studied the 2nd grade at school. I received face-to-face classes every day and learned a lot with this study method. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, but my mother made an effort to support me with school expenses. Sometimes, it was difficult for her to cover every expense. My dream is to work in a grocery store and to help my mother economically. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to light fireworks with my cousins. I like to drink “mosh” (a hot beverage made of whole oatmeal).  Among sports, I prefer soccer. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources. I want to ask for your prayers for me because I have a cyst on my right wrist.  Fortunately, I was referred to the LW´s doctor and I will visit him soon. Thank God, my family is in good health.

My mother`s name is Roselia Garcia Gomez. She is 28 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home and weaving typical clothes to sell and get some income in order to support us financially. As you know, my father abandoned the family 9 years ago, and now, he lives in the United States. Sometimes, he contributes a little to our home income. His name is Rigoberto Ruiz Portuguez. We continue living in our maternal grandparent`s house.  My grandfather`s name is Alejandro Garcia.  He is 55 years old. He earns a living by working as a farmer.  My grandmother`s name is Juana Gomez.  She is 50 years old.  She is a housewife, and she weaves typical clothes to sell and get some income. Nowadays, they also contribute to the home income. Moreover, they grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. We have hens and one cow at home. As a needy and humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. We are very grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every year`s end through LW.  I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you richly!

Kisses and hugs,

Edwin Jairo Ruiz Garcia
