My Story

Hello! I greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you are doing fine. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the LW clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we are attending the Church of Christ every Sunday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my grandmother during the visit. My mother´s name is Petronila Portuguez Gomez. She is 26 years old. At the moment, she works as a maid, and she washes clothes for others. In addition, she raises hens, pigs, and goats to sell and get some income. As you know, my father abandoned us some years ago.  My mother is the only one who supports us financially. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Rigoberto Osorio Portuguez, and I am 12 years old. This year I am in 4th grade at school.  I receive face-to-face classes daily and am learning a lot about topics with this study method. Fortunately, my mother is making an effort to support my siblings and me at school despite the school fees being so expensive. In the future, I want to look for a job and be able to support my family financially. Mosh (a hot beverage made of oatmeal) is what I prefer to drink. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year because I light fireworks with my siblings. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of money. Among sports, I prefer soccer. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through Living Water Adopt-A-Child every December. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you greatly!

Lots of love,

Rigoberto Osorio Portuguez
