My Story

Hi! I greet you cordially and I hope you have a beautiful and blessed day. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the LW clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Catholic Church every Wednesday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, we are sure of our salvation. My mother´s name is Juliana Marina Chingo Simaj. She is 42 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she raises hens, cows, and a pig to sell and get some income. Moreover, she weaves typical clothes to sell too. My father´s name is Isaias Garcia Cux.  He is 45 years old. Currently, he continues working in a vehicle repair shop as a mechanic in order to support us financially. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Juliana Maria Garcia Chingo, and I am 14 years old. This year I am in 8th grade at school.  I receive face-to-face classes daily and am learning a lot about topics with this study method and I get good marks in my subjects. Fortunately, my parents are making an effort to support me at school despite the school fees being so expensive. In the future, I want to become an agronomist. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English because I think this is a very interesting language around the world. Coffee is what I prefer to drink. Christmas and the Town Fair are my favorite celebrations of the year due to the special activities that we do. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat delicious cake and I am looking forward to my 15th birthday. Among sports, I prefer soccer. We grow corn and lemons for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our needs are groceries and firewood. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through Living Water Adopt-A-Child every December. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you!

Huge hugs,

Juliana Maria Garcia Chingo
