My Story

Hi! I greet you cordially and hoping you have a blessed and successful day alongside your loved ones. I want to tell you a little about my family and me through this letter. I am Maria Gutierrez Gutierrez and I am 12 years old. This year, I studied the 4th grade at school and I received face-to-face classes every day and I learned a lot with this study method. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, but my father made an effort to support my siblings and me with school expenses.  In the future, I want to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, but I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. “Mosh” (a hot beverage made of whole oatmeal) is what I prefer to drink. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to light fireworks. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake.  Among sports, I prefer soccer. I want to tell you that my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Micaela Gutierrez Chingo. She is 45 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of us. Moreover, she raises hens for our family`s consumption. My stepfather`s name is Antonio Gutierrez De La Cruz. He is 45 years old. Nowadays, he earns a living by working as a mason`s helper and he contributes to home expenses. As a needy and humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. I want to let you know that we are attending the Charismatic Group that belongs to the Catholic Church every Tuesday. We are very grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I received recently through LW.  May God bless you greatly!

Huge hugs,

Maria Gutierrez Gutierrez
