Elderly
My name is Adelaida Agreda Gomez, and I am glad to greet you through this letter. I am 78 years old, and I am grateful to the Lord for being alive and having a big family. As you know, I have seven children. I remember that raising my kids was difficult because of a lack of money. However, God helped me with what I needed to accomplish my goal as a mom. I still live with my son, Rigoberto. He gathers and sells firewood to support me. He has diabetes, but he is not under treatment. The rest of my children are doing well. They do their best to help me economically. Andres and Ovidio work as masons, Marta and Mirian are domestic employees, Maria is a babysitter, and Rafaela is a housewife. I still suffer from a lot of pain in my knees. My children took me to a private doctor recently. He told me that I need surgery. However, that could be dangerous because of my age. So, I beg you to pray for me. I should buy medicine to mitigate the pain, but my family and I do not have enough resources to do it.
Spending time with my children makes me feel so happy. When Mirian comes to my house, she brings a soda and shares it with me while we are conversing. I am no longer able to walk long distances, so I do not attend church. This is sad for me, but a member of the LW staff shared some verses from the bible with me as an encouragement to continue trusting in God. If you ask me who Jesus is to me, I will say He is my Father and gives me what I need. To end this letter, I beg you to pray for all my grandchildren, especially for those who do not have enough food at home. Some of them do not have breakfast before going to school. To end this letter, I want you to know that I gave all this information to LW just for you. May God bless you today and always!
From the bottom of my heart,
Adelaida Agreda Gomez
