My Story

I am delighted to say hello to you through this letter. I hope you are doing well wherever you are. My name is Samuel, and I am 8 years old. My family and I attend a Christian Church called Joined Assembly of the Holy Spirit. We usually attend our services on Tuesdays and Fridays. Let me tell you that my mom, Maria Salazar Aguilar, is 51 years old. She keeps busy doing the chores and raising hens. She also works in her own grocery store to help with the expenses at home. My father, Manuel Grave, is 79 years old. He makes a living by selling accessories for women in the market on Thursdays and Sundays. Besides that, he grows corn and beans for our consumption. Fortunately, my family is in good health. Some of our needs are groceries.

As for school, let me tell you that I was in first grade this year. I love studying, so I enjoyed attending face-to-face classes. By God’s grace, my parents could cover my school supplies. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love drinking hot fruit punch. When my birthday comes, I love having a tasty cake to celebrate with my family. My favorite drink is mosh (it is a typical hot beverage), and my favorite sport is football. My native language is the Kiche dialect and I know a little Spanish. I hope to improve my Spanish speaking someday. To end this letter, I want you to know that my mom helped me to give all this information to a teacher of LW. I say goodbye to you for now, but thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. May God bless you bountifully!

Kisses and hugs,

Samuel Grave Salazar
