My Story

It is my pleasure to greet you through this and I hope our Lord is taking care of you! Praise the Lord, my family and I attend Church of Christ; we go on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We trust our salvation in Christ, and we appreciate the encouraging words that LW staff gave us this time. Thanks to God, we all are fine. My mother is Gregoria Simaj De La Cruz, and she is 29 years old. She stays busy with the duties at home. My father is Moises Pu, and he is 40 years old. He makes a living as a farmer and looks after cattle. He does his best to supply the family´s needs. At home, we raise some cows to sell and to supply the family's consumption.

I am Cefora Rachel Pu Simaj, and I am 13 years old. I am a seventh-grade student; I like to receive classes at school because my learning is better, and I have fun with my classmates. My father is striving to cover the school supplies, but now, everything is expensive and sometimes he does not have the resources to buy all that I need. My dream is to study and become a nurse someday, so hopefully it will come true. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. I get so happy when my birthday comes because I receive some gifts. I love it. Christmas is one of my favorite seasons of the year because we meet up with our relatives and have a cheerful time. I want to tell you that my favorite juice is peach-flavored one. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. Being part of Living Water is a great blessing for me because I receive tasty meals, and I enjoy playing with other children when I go to the program. My family needs groceries, corn, and black beans. So long. May God bless you greatly!
