I fondly greet you through this letter hoping you are doing great with your loved ones. My name is Ivan Alvez Ruiz Saquic, and I am a happy and healthy 7-year-old boy. I am in preschool this year. I have face-to-face classes every weekday from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. I do not have internet access. I am doing well with my studies so far. In my free time, I play with my friends and do my homework. I love attending the feeding program to enjoy the delicious meals.
Both of my biological parents live with me. My father works as a farmer to support us financially. My mother is a hardworking housewife. I have 1 sibling: 1 sister. I am joyful to say that we are all healthy and that God has taken care of us. To spend time as a family, we eat a small snack together. During Christmastime, we prepare tamales and fruit punch for a special dinner together. Also, we attend a Christian church, which takes us 30 minutes to walk to. My father plays the piano on the worship team. During the pandemic our church continued to have services behind closed doors. I live in a village called Pasojoc, and it takes me 10 minutes to walk to the feeding center. My humble house has walls made of adobe, the roof is made of tin sheets, and the floor is made of dirt. There are two rooms and a separate kitchen. We are sharing this living space with my grandmother. We do not have running water, but we do have electricity at home. We obtain water from a river using a hose. The house belongs to my grandmother, and she allows us to live with her rent free. Our house is in poor condition because the tin sheets in the kitchen are damaged and need to be replaced. Our family’s finances were affected by COVID-19 because there was less work available for my father, but God has always been faithful to us, and we have continued forward. Our greatest needs are corn, sugar, oatmeal, and clothes. Please, take care of yourself and I hope to hear from you soon. Many blessings!
The Living Waters Evangelism Team is speaking to families in Quiche by phone call. They spoke to my mother to receive information pertaining to me.
