My Story

Hello, what a blessing to greet you! This is Erlindo, and I hope this letter finds you doing well. As you know, I am a Catholic, so my family and I attend our masses on Tuesdays. We are grateful for the blessings the Lord spills upon our lives. Besides, I thank you because, with your lovingly support, my siblings and I receive delicious meals and hear the gospel at the feeding program. The staff collected this information for you while they encouraged us to continue trusting in God. My mother also works hard at home and looks after our domestic animals. We have sheep, hens, pigs, and a cow at home. Our priorities are clothes and food supplies. Therefore, we try to raise corn, beans, and green beans for our consumption. Fortunately, my father still works in the United States to help us with the expenses. He makes a living in a dairy and his health is in good condition. The rest of my family and I are healthy too.

Thankfully, my parents could enroll me again at school. I am a third-grade student and classes are face-to-face. I like this method because I can exchange ideas with my friends about how to do homework. My dream is to become a policeman, so I am doing my best to achieve it. Christmastime is the best celebration for me because my family and I enjoy the traditional and delicious tamal. I like drinking natural juices and my favorite sport is cycling. My native language is the Quiche dialect, although I would like to learn how to speak in another language someday day, like English.  I turned nine years old in January. What I love having the most is a piñata (a traditional birthday puppet full of candies) to celebrate with my family. I say goodbye for now, but it was a pleasure for me to share my last news with you. May God bless you richly!
