My Story

Hello! My full name is Genesis Nohemi Chan Mateo, and I am glad to share a little about my life with you. Before starting, let me tell you that my older sister and I were delighted to write this letter to you. By the grace of God, I am a healthy 10-year-old girl. I am repeating third grade. I attend school alongside my sister on the morning shift. My favorite food is the Chinese-Guatemalan rice. My favorite pastime is playing with my dolls. The people who I live are my mom, sister, and stepfather. Let me tell you that my mom had to undergo surgery recently because she broke her arm in a motorcycle accident. Therefore, she does not work. My stepfather is the one who supports our needs and expenses. He has lived with my family and me for about one year. His name is Angel Aguilar, and he makes a living by painting houses.

I also have one brother, but he lives with my biological father. Talking about my father, let me tell you that he does not help my sister and me economically. My sister and I attend Restauration Christian Church. Fortunately, we can spend time with our brother there. A member of the LW evangelism team visited and shared the gospel with my sister and me recently. That blessed us a lot. Besides spiritual support, let me tell you that we have been blessed with food and a Christmas gift at LW-Adopt A Child. To end this letter, I ask you to pray for provision and the recovery of my mom. In advance, thank you so much. I say goodbye to you now, but I want you to know that my family and I hope the Lord spills thousands of blessings upon the staff and all those good-hearted people.
